Beginning with freshmen in high school and on up through adulthood, this class is fun and fast-paced. We will begin with focusing on the fundamentals. We will cover the basics of using your sewing machine, how to read and follow pattern instructions, problem solving and ways to apply your own ideas into each project.
I have a list of beginning projects including a drawstring bag, pillowcase, tote, pajama pants, t-shirt, maxi-skirt and more. I'm happy to help you determine what is best for you. If you will exercise the patience needed to learn the basics first, the knowledge and skills you gain will enable you to make your creative ideas come to life!
I keep the class size small with only four students per class. This enables me to give one-on-one attention as needed. Each student provides their own sewing machine. A good basic machine is reasonably priced (many are less than $200) and relatively easy to transport to and from class. I recommend that you purchase a good basic machine at The Sewing Nook, located on Bell Street, next door to Bagel Place north of 34th.
Spring 2017 Schedule
The adult class will be from 7-9pm on Monday evenings. We will begin the week of January 23 and go through May 8. We will meet every two weeks (8 classes total, no class MLK Day or Spring Break) Classes must have at least two students to "make". Register here!
Feel free to text me before the class to see if you can come last minute. I never mind trying to work it out. If you prefer not to commit to a bi-weekly schedule individual classes are $50.
